Clans

Trade as a team: find clans on the Leaderboard, create your own, invite members by search or link, and see the combined PnL and holdings.

Written by Klutch

A clan is a group of traders who share their positions and are ranked together by their combined profit and loss. You can join one or create your own, and visible clans are ranked on the clan leaderboard.

Where to find clans

Open the Leaderboard tab, then tap Clans (if you don't see it, update the app). The list ranks clans by combined PnL over 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time: the top 50 for the shorter windows and the top 25 for all time. Each row shows the clan's rank, member count and PnL.

A clan ranked below that is not in the list. Its own page still shows its rank, and your own clan card at the top of the list shows yours.

What you see inside a clan

A clan page has four tabs: Members, Holdings, Feed and Thesis. It shows the clan's combined PnL, its rank among other clans, and each member's individual PnL.

Holdings shows the clan's combined position in each token, which members hold it, and the combined PnL on it. The Follow button at the top follows every member of the clan in one tap, and turns into Unfollow once you follow them all.

The clan Feed has a minimum trade size filter. Items below the amount you choose are hidden, while milestones and items with no size always show.

Joining a clan means the other members can see your individual PnL alongside theirs.

Creating a clan

On the Clans page, tap Create a clan. You choose a name of up to 50 characters, a description of up to 280 characters, an icon and a banner image. You need to pick at least four traders to invite before Create a clan becomes available. You can be in one clan at a time.

The name and description are checked for profanity and other disallowed wording, and the name has to be unique. If a check fails, the clan is not saved until the wording is changed.

A clan you create starts hidden. It is left out of the clan leaderboard and its members carry no clan badge until the fomo team makes it visible, but your own clan card still shows its rank. There is no setting for this on your side.

The eye icon on the clan page lists the reasons a clan can be hidden: too few members, too few active traders, being associated with a token, or a Terms of Service breach.

As the founder you manage the clan from the settings icon on the clan page. Manage clan lets you edit the name, description and images, open Manage members, and delete the clan. Website and social links on a clan profile can't be set from the app.

Inviting members

Open Manage members and tap Invite. There are two ways to invite:

  1. Search for a trader by name and send them an invite.

  2. Tap Invite via link, then Share link or copy it. Anyone who opens the link gets a pending invite from you and joins when they accept it.

Reset link creates a new invite link and the old one stops working. Someone who opens an old link sees "This invite link is no longer valid."

Manage members also lists pending invites, which you can revoke, and lets you remove a member. A removed member's positions stop counting towards the clan's stats, and you can invite them back later.

A trader who is already in a clan can't be invited (they show as In another clan), and an invite link won't work for them until they leave. Joining a clan also declines any other invites you had, so switching clans takes a fresh invite.

Every clan has a member limit, and once it is reached new invites can't be sent and invites already out can't be accepted, while everyone already in the clan stays.

Leaving a clan

On the clan page, tap the three dots at the top right, choose Leave clan and confirm. Your positions, holdings and profit stop counting towards the clan's stats, and you can rejoin if you are invited again. The founder can't leave; the founder's option is Delete clan under Manage clan.
