Crypto trading involves risk, and scam tokens are a real part of the landscape. A few habits will help you avoid most of them.
Check the token's liquidity before buying. If liquidity is very low or has been recently removed, that is a red flag. fomo shows liquidity data on each token's page.
Look at holder distribution. If a small number of wallets hold a large percentage of the total supply, the token is vulnerable to a coordinated dump.
Be cautious with tokens that appear in your wallet without you buying them. These are almost always airdropped scam tokens sent automatically by bad actors. They often display a fake dollar value but cannot actually be sold. Do not interact with them.
If a token displays a warning label in the app, take it seriously. The label exists because something about the token's contract or trading activity has unfavorable characteristics to unsuspecting buyers. Which is why we take extra steps to label tokens that we've reviewed to make you aware for your safety.
